Reflections with Fr. Mark
Dear Parishioners,

Today, we remember the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord.  We imagine being on that Mount with the three chosen ones when Jesus would become a dazzling white, giving them a glimpse of the Divine Light.  Every human heart longs to experience transcendence.  Our spirits yearn to be made whole and unite with our Creator God who will call us home, our true home.

The transfiguration occurs before Jesus descends to make his way to the Cross in Jerusalem.  Some, like Peter, would rather stay on the hilltop, with the transcendent Jesus.  Who doesn’t want to just feel good and desire to prolong the experience?  Yet, the Good News must suffer, die and resurrect so that His divine life might rise in each one of us in a rebirth through the waters of baptism. But, let’s for a day, sit on our “mount” with Jesus allowing His Light to fill our spirits.

May this time be your time to respond to His invitation to grow into something very beautiful.
