Reflections with Fr. Mark
Our Advent journey continues even amidst the pandemic. This will be unlike any other Advent or Christmas season any of us have ever experienced.  We may have lost hope and are desperately seeking something or someone to grasp on to.
We know we are not going to be able to celebrate this beautiful time of year in the manner we would like.

Perhaps it is fitting at this time to offer the poetic words of theologian, educator, and civil rights leader Howard Thurman, who reminds us of the work of Christmas: “to find the lost, heal the broken, feed the hungry…rebuild nations and bring peace among others.”

With this vision in mind we may want to pray for the grace to overcome any disappointments we feel and focus on rebuilding the relationships around us.  Perhaps that is where we will find true peace this year.

The journey continues…rebuilding in Light what has been destroyed in darkness.

Blessings,

Fr. Mark
