Today, we celebrate the Memorial of Saint Hilary, Bishop and Doctor of the Church, who defended the belief that Jesus is both human and divine. He was a great man who converted to Christianity at the age of 35 and was elected bishop three years later.
This was a time of great conflict between emperors and bishops over the divinity of Jesus. St. Hilary was a good man who championed belief in Jesus’ divinity even while being led into exile. In our times of political and religious turmoil, may Saint Hilary guide us to God’s grace.
Spiritual Reflection: “For this purpose have I come…” For what purpose did God place you here at this time and place?
