Reflexology:  Research shows that outdated theories of "crunchies" are invalid

Reflexology works on the thousands of nerve endings in the feet. As congestion or tension in any part of the foot is mirrored in the corresponding areas in the body (organs, endocrines, body parts), the body's systems are stimulated through reflexology to create physical change. Using pressure techniques to work the reflex points in the feet can help restore and maintain the body's natural balance.

Outdated beliefs that the tender "crunchies" or "crystals" in the feet were deposits of uric or lactic acids have been proven false through up to date research.  Dr. Manzanare, who has conducted 30 years of medical reflexology research, found through biopsies that the crunchies are actually a combination of nervous fibers, vascular elements, and connective tissue in the hypodermis. He also confirmed the direct involvement of the nervous system's connection through the biopsies, finding a composition difference in the deposits (crunchy spots) versus areas of non-deposits (normal areas). Non-deposit tissue contained 8% nervous fibers, 27% vascular elements, 65% connective tissue, and deposit tissue contained 42% nervous fibers, 28% vascular elements, 30% connective tissue. This is a significant difference when you think about those painful crunchies and how they connect to the corresponding areas. Working out the entangled nerve fibers through reflexology allows the nervous system to rebalance along with the organs, endocrines, and body parts.

How does a typical reflexology session with Leah work?

A typical session with Leah includes more than reflexology. She starts with anointing the feet with a wonderful essential oil called Grounding (optional), and opens up the lymph behind the knee followed by flushing and massage of the calf. The feet and ankles then are worked through a detailed reflexology protocol focusing extra attention on the deposit areas of restriction, tension, and pain. Next follows stretching and range of motion exercises to increase flexibility and range of motion in the feet and ankles.  Hydrotherapy with hot towels finishes the session (optional).

Reflexology benefits include
  • Relaxation
  • Pain reduction
  • Assists balancing in every area of the body
  • Eases the mind
  • Counteracts stress
  • Promotes healing
  • Leaves you with happy feet
  • Leaves you with a feeling of being pampered

Testimonials

B.C. Wylie, TX
"What a wonderful experience.  Reflexology/bodywork is the best thing ever.  I had gone through 6 months of physical therapy for hip problems and was no better.  After a few appointments with Leah I got relief.  Not to mention the headaches and stress in my shoulders disappeared without pain or drugs.  Doctors have always had trouble diagnosing issues with me, but Leah zones in and provides relief along with tips I can do easily to help in between appointments.  I would recommend this to anyone".

Reflexology is a must for me.  Leah has been working wonders on me for over 10 years now.  I am now on a 2 week maintenance schedule but many times due to my busy life and travel, I either extend my treatment or get a treatment every week.  I fully recommend reflexology by Leah as long as you do not get my appointment time.  Ha ha".
