2021 Climate Change Report Released by IPCC
Drawing from 14,000 scientific publications, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the United Nations body for assessing the science related to climate change, recently released their report AR6 Climate Change 2021: The Physical Science Basis. Offering itself as a comprehensive, evidence based resource, the report seeks to improve overall understanding of climate change. The report includes regional fact sheets North America and small islands, as well as a summary for policymakers. The link below provides access to the full report, as well as quick reference items.

Colorado Statesman Named New U.S. Ambassador to Mexico
As the only CSG region with international borders to both the south and north, CSG West provides a space to engage with policymakers from Canada and Mexico. We extend our congratulations to Ken Salazar on his confirmation as the U.S. Ambassador to Mexico and look forward to working with him to foster enhanced U.S. – Mexico collaboration. A former U.S. Senator and Attorney General for Colorado, as well as U.S. Interior Secretary, he received a unanimous vote by the U.S. Senate for this appointment. To learn more about, click below.

Economic Empowerment of Refugees in the United States
Building upon previous session conversations, the August 27 Legislative Exchange will address the topic of economic empowerment as it relates to refugee resettlement. The Director of Economic Empowerment of U.S. Programs, Erica Bouris, will speak about the unique programming offered by the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and how state investments have helped it to expand.
