REGAL WEEKLY

October 27th - October 31st

At Regina’s September board meeting, Superintendent Devaney presented updated Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws for Regina governance. We are deeply grateful for Bishop Walsh’s leadership in prioritizing Catholic education and for guiding this process across the Diocese of Davenport. All Catholic schools in the Diocese will be updating their foundational documents to ensure consistent board structures and best practices. Here is a summary of the major updates:

  • Our official legal name is now Regina Catholic Schools.
  • Governance and operations are now explicitly grounded in Canon Law, ensuring Regina remains faithful to the mission of the Catholic Church.
  • The documents clearly define the Bishop’s leadership role and the Pastors’ responsibilities in governance.
  • The Board of Education structure and officer roles have been updated for clarity and consistency across the diocese.
  • Committees have been streamlined to focus on Executive and Finance, with others created as needed.
  • Language was added to reaffirm Regina’s mission as a Catholic school open to all families, where every student participates in Catholic formation.

These updates ensure Regina remains strong in its Catholic identity and in alignment with the Diocese of Davenport.

The Regina School Board and Diocesan policies are available at www.regina.org/board. I am deeply grateful to those who have served on the School Board over the years and to our current members for their continued dedication. Their leadership helps keep Regina focus on our mission and committed to our students and families.

CENTER-WIDE NEWS

NEW Volunteerism at Regina

Volunteering is a vital part of our Catholic School and an expression of our faith in action.  Without volunteers, the events and programs that bring our Regina community together simply wouldn’t happen.

This year, our goal is for each family to have at least one person volunteer one time. There are many opportunities currently available and some you can even do from home!

Please visit www.regina.org/volunteer for more information and opportunities. This page is updated regularly with opportunities for both adults and students.

Our faith calls us to serve. Our Regina community is stronger when you do. So we challenge you to consider: If not you, then who?

NEW A reminder that all postseason tickets are sold online and no staff passes will be accepted.

PRESCHOOL NEWS

Our preschoolers have been busy continuing their learning this week with pumpkins!

This week was filled with hands-on activities. The children had the chance to explore the insides of real pumpkins, feeling the texture and the stringy parts, and counting so many seeds. Everyone was excited to share how the insides felt and how many seeds they counted. We also brought out our creativity by painting pumpkins in all kinds of fun colors, each one unique. It’s always so much fun to see learning come alive through play and interactive creative experiences!
