Prom

Date/Time: Saturday, May 14th at 8:00-11:00 PM
Location: Wisconsin Masonic Center, 301 Wisconsin Ave.

Tickets: Tickets are $25 and will be on sale in SLC offices the week before prom. A student ID is required to purchase.

Guests: Students may bring 1 guest to prom. If your guest is from another school, this Guest Permission Slip must be filled out and signed by the guest student’s school and parent, and returned to your SLC office by May 11th, 2022. Students can get paper copies of these permission slips in their SLC offices.

Other Information:
  • The theme is Enchanted Forest.
  • All students must bring a current school ID.
  • No entry after 10:00pm, and no re-entry after leaving.
  • MMSD reserves the right, based on reasonable suspicion of drug or alcohol use at dance, to have students tested and be subject to appropriate school and/or legal consequences.
  • More information on Prom Court will be sent at a later time.
  • If students are suspended the week of prom, they cannot attend.
  • West Seniors at alternative schools are eligible to attend and can come to the Welcome Center to purchase a ticket.
2022 Summer High School Session First Time Credit Interest
2022 Summer High School Semester Session begins on Monday, June 20th and ends on Thursday, July 28th and takes place Monday through Thursday. To express interest in taking Virtual First Time Credit and/or ACT Prep Courses (virtual or in person), please complete this form by May 13, 2022. Students may take up to 0.5 credits during summer semester for first-time credit. For additional information, visit the Summer Semester website (mmsd.org/summer) or contact your counselor.

Lake Wingra Watershed Gathering
Vilas Park: Saturday, May 21, 1-4:00 pm

The Dudgeon-Monroe Neighborhood Association’s WATER Team invites you to a family friendly and free event. Bring your family, a friend, or neighbor. Meet neighbors from throughout the Watershed as we celebrate and learn about water stewardship. Language translation assistance available.

Interact with people from 30 organizations committed to clean water needed by all life forms that share this planet. Learn about water stewardship practices. Leave with new ideas as we collectively ensure healthy lakes, streams, and the lands in-between. 

  • Participate in fun activities with nine activities for children. 
  • Engage with storyteller Andi Cloud, a member of the Ho-Chunk Nation.
  • Enjoy art inspired by water research results.
  • Renew your sense of connection among people, land, and water.
  • Meet homeowners with rain gardens, rain barrels, and prairies instead of lawns as ways to keep water out of their basements while creating habitat for butterflies, insects, and animals.
  • Talk with neighbors who plant prairies and greenspaces on public property.
  • Talk with urban vegetable gardeners.
  • Learn about climate justice, how climate change impacts Madison Lakes and ways to lessen effects.
  • Learn about water management including ways to address flooding. 
  • Experience lake monitoring and tracking harmful chloride.
