Last Day of Summer School

|
Welcome to the end of the 2020 school year. What a year!
I am slowly returning to work after total knee replacement surgery (I'm healing very well and making solid progress daily) after three weeks off. During that time, I've had a chance to read, think, and organize my thoughts as we begin to plan for the return to school in the fall. I have also spent the past few nights watching peaceful civil protest turn into violence at home and across the country. I have thought about our role at West in addressing issues of systemic inequality, and I know that the time for us to act is now...

Yearbook Distribution & Student Materials Drop-off
|
As you know, the last day of school for students is June 3rd. Regarding students returning instructional materials and picking up yearbooks, this will be done by grade level on the following dates:
June 4 - Seniors
*It is important that all seniors come on this day to clear obligations so you can pick up your diploma on June 12th.
June 5 - Juniors
June 8 - Sophomores
June 9 - Freshmen
June 12 - All students pick up requested materials left in lockers and seniors pick up diplomas.
*If you need materials from your locker, and have not yet requested them, please contact Natalie in the Ash Office at [email protected]. No students are allowed in the building.
Previously ordered yearbooks will also be available on these days for pick-up. All seniors will receive a yearbook.

Congratulations to the 130 new inductees to West High's National Honor Society! They have worked hard to not just propel themselves with impressive scholarship (3.5GPA and above), but to provide strong character, leadership and service. In fact, nearly 10,000 hours of service to others and the earth were recorded just in their applications to join this year! All of us at West are proud to teach, assist and learn with these future influencers who got their start as Regents at 30 Ash. Applause also goes out to the parents and families of NHS members--and non members--who continue to love your children forward in ways that make for a more honorable society!

West High School Spanish teachers would like to congratulate these students
on their high achievement in the study of Spanish language, cultures, and
communities. They have shown that they are dedicated to continuing their
language studies and engaging in community service projects to benefit
Spanish speaking communities locally and abroad. They will officially be
inducted into the Capítulo Horacio Quiroga of the Spanish Honor Society next
fall. ¡Felicidades a todos, y todos a una!
