2025 Singing Valentines

A West tradition and yearly highlight for our students and staff. Thank you to Mr. Cao and all of our singers!

Thank you to our Student Services Staff for organizing the 2025 ACT Test Day Pancake Breakfast for our Juniors. We appreciate you!

From Principal Kigeya

Dear Madison West Scholars and Families,

As we bid farewell to the chilly days of winter, I am thrilled to welcome the vibrant energy of spring to West High School! This season brings new beginnings, growth, and exciting learning opportunities for all of us.

Madison West Celebrations!

This month, we are celebrating Happy Social Work Month, a time to recognize the incredible dedication of our social workers who support our scholars and community every day. Additionally, to our Muslim scholars and staff, we extend warm wishes as you observe Ramadan

ACT 2025

I want to take a moment to celebrate our incredible juniors—over 485+ of you—who participated in the ACT this past Tuesday. Your hard work and commitment to your futures inspire us all. Well done!

West Equity Symposium - April 9th

Mark your calendars for our Equity Symposium on April 9th! This full-day learning opportunity will allow scholars to engage with staff, community leaders and others to explore many topics impacting our community. Please note that all presentations will adhere to the MMSD Controversial Issues Policy, and neither West nor MMSD endorses the opinions of presenters. This is a chance to learn, grow, and contribute to meaningful conversations. More to come…

Spring Sports - Maintain West HOUSE Values

As we move into spring, we are also excited for the start of Spring Sports. Whether you’re on the field, court, track, or in the stands cheering on your peers, let’s show our Regent pride and sportsmanship. Remember, appropriate behavior is expected at all sporting and extracurricular events. Scholars who fail to adhere to these expectations could lose privileges, including opportunities such as Prom and even participation in the commencement ceremony. Let’s work together to ensure a positive and respectful environment for everyone.

Thank you for making West High a place where we can all thrive. Let’s make this spring season one to remember!

Achievement Connections

Achievement Connections is here to help you with your Algebra 1 and Geometry classes. Tutoring is a great way to brush up on foundational skills as well as cover new topics with some help. We pair you with a UW student or community volunteer to help you with your math twice a week (excluding Fridays) during your study hall, lunch, or after school. This is a commitment based program, with you and your tutor making an agreement to show up ready to work on your chosen days and times. If you are interested in the program, you can stop by our office in room 1254, or talk to your Geometry or Algebra teacher about Achievement Connections.

Spanish Travel Opportunity

Join us for an informational meeting about our next student trip to the Dominican Republic in June, 2026. The meeting will be for students and their parents so they can learn more about the trip activities, cost, and potential fundraising. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 29 at 6:30pm in Room 3210, West High.
