Good Deed Brigade . . . Making A Difference
Regina Bradford - Inner Strength and Faith
Epilepsy Foundation Volunteer

Regina Bradford has a "can do" attitude and a true desire to help others. Regina's community spirit has and continues to change lives.

Regina survived two brain surgeries and years dealing with the challenges of seizures.  During this journey, Regina embraced her inner strength and faith to not only survive but thrive to the point that she now devotes her time, energy, and goodwill to help others.

Regina is thankful for her family, friends, doctors, and the community.  She also credits the Epilepsy Foundation for helping her get through her struggles.  Ultimately, Regina became a steadfast volunteer of the Epilepsy Foundation. As noted by American author Harriet Beecher Stowe:

"When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hang on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn."

Regina never gave up during her struggles and now finds a certain strength and peace in helping others.

The Good Deed Brigade interviewed Regina about her volunteer experiences.

Why did get involved with the Epilepsy Florida?
I wanted to help and give back as a way to say thank you to Dr. Arce my neurosurgeon and Dr. Bautista my neurologist who directed me to the Epilepsy Florida after having brain surgery as a result of my epilepsy.

What kind of volunteer work have you done with the foundation? I've volunteered for the Epilepsy Foundation at a number of events and functions including the following:

*Annual Walk the Talk for Epilepsy Walks at Metropolitan Park;

*Planning Committee the 2017 and 2019 Walks;

*Annual Let's Talk About It Dinner;

*Epilepsy Awareness Month - November;

*Jacksonville, Gainesville, and Daytona Epilepsy Office Volunteer Work; and

*Epilepsy Outreach at Schools and Special Events.

What have learned through your volunteer work? Volunteering for the organization has become an amazing part of my life and I enjoy it. Even though I no longer suffer with the symptoms of Epilepsy I am still in this with everyone. This has become my life because it is my life. I'm so excited to be able to bless others who are still suffering from Epilepsy.

What was one of your favorite volunteer moments? My favorite moment was when I received the "Champion of the Heart" award at the 2017 Let's Talk About it Dinner.

The Good Deed Brigade salutes Regina Bradford and other people out there making the community a better place and inspiring others to do their part as well.
