Circle of Harmony

As the cold wind and snow swirls outside, the Circle of Harmony is basking in the warmth of

the energy and enthusiasm of seven new members!
These lovely gals joined our Show Choir in September, performed on our shows in November and in December, decided to take the plunge and become members! It is certainly a pretty great year to join us on our journey to St. Louis and we are so pleased to have their voices raised in song with us!

We were very proud to have two groups compete in the VLQ competition at Fall Music School last November. Winterlude, singing Gordon Lightfoot's Song for a Winter's Night, opened the competition and Not the Royals, singing Royals closed it, and was also thrilled to win! We wear our medals with pride! A big thank you to Region 16 photographer Leila Brown for the great photos!

Greater Kingston Chorus

Greater Kingston Chorus is thrilled about our sold-out holiday show "Yuletide Glow" held in Kingston on December 9th.   It was the 1st ever tri-chorus collaboration with GKC, Limestone City Voices and the Kingston Townsmen Chorus - over 100 voices combined!   Each chorus had the opportunity to showcase their own repertoire, but our favourite pieces were the ones we sang collectively.   The two women's choruses joined together for "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear/Silent Night" medley and then the men's chorus joined us for "The Secret of Christmas Medley" - if was a rousing finale that brought the audience to their feet!

After our GKC Christmas party and a couple weeks off over the holidays, we were eager to get back to rehearsals and excited to start working our new ballad.  We welcomed new member Mi-Sook Lee - her enthusiasm is infectious!  Her reaction to GKC singing "You're Our New Sweet Adeline" reminded us of the wonderful emotions we each felt as a new member!
GKC is looking forward to an upcoming performance at Providence Care Hospital on February 6th and our retreat weekend March 10th & 11th at the Isaiah Tubbs Resort.
Happy New Year from all of us at GKC!
