Safe and Supportive Schools

July 2026

Mandatory Safe and Supportive Schools Program Reporting

In accordance with Texas Education Code (TEC) §37.115, school boards must establish a threat assessment and safe and supportive school program team for each campus. These teams must conduct threat assessments that include assessing and reporting individuals who make threats of violence or exhibit harmful, threatening, or violent behavior. Teams are required to report information regarding their activities to the TEA.

Reporting will begin on Monday, June 1, 2026, and will conclude at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026. Each school system is responsible for ensuring that SSSP data is reported for each campus by the deadline. School systems are encouraged to review the collection preview prior to final submission in Sentinel.
