AAA9 Winter Blood Drive and National Wear Red Day

We hosted our winter blood drive on Friday, February 2nd where 38 units of life saving blood were collected from 40 presenting donors, surpassing our goal of collecting 33 units.

Thank you to all who participated!

AAA9 staff also wore red for #NationalWearRedDay to bring greater attention to heart disease as a leading cause of death for Americans.

Time to Celebrate!

The Area Agencies on Aging were added to the Older Americans Act in 1973 to be the on-the-ground organizations charged with helping vulnerable older adults live with independence and dignity in their homes and communities.

The Ohio AAAs are continuing the celebration into all of 2024!

"Extra Help" Medicare Program

Spread the word!

As of Jan. 1, 2024, more people will save on Medicare drug costs with expansion of “Extra Help” Extra Help lowers Medicare drug coverage (Part D) costs, like premiums, deductibles, and coinsurance for those who apply and qualify. The drug pricing law expanded Extra Help so more people with Medicare will qualify for the full subsidy under the program.

In 2024, everyone who qualifies for Extra Help will pay:

• $0 for their Medicare drug plan premium.

• $0 for their plan deductible.

• A reduced amount for both generic and brand-name drugs.
