Spring Quarterly News Update

Hello Region I Colleagues,

It is hard to believe that we are on the downhill slide of another school year. It seems like the last couple of months fly by. I hope that you have had a great year so far and have great energy to finish strong. The connections I’ve made through ACTE have been a continual source of energy and inspiration for me. I follow several colleagues from across the region and nation on Facebook and LinkedIn, where I regularly see posts showcasing the incredible work being done in career and technical education (CTE) to support our students and communities. These updates not only inspire me, but also spark ideas that help drive innovation and progress within my own programs. I hope that you are maximizing the relationships you can build through ACTE. They may just give you the inspiration you need to keep the energy level high!

In addition to the organic relationships that you can build from participation in ACTE events, ACTE also has created intentional ways for ACTE members to connect. ACTE offers Community of Practice and Networking Groups. Community of Practice groups offers members with interconnected job opportunities collaborate to explore and test solutions to common issues. The networking groups are centered around a shared personal experiences and provide support and mentorship for each other. Click here to learn more.

Below are the groups currently available—I encourage you to explore this great opportunity to connect with professionals who share your interests and issues.

Sincerely,

Douglas Bush

2025 Region I Annual Conference

The 2025 Region I Conference was a great success. I personally want to thank all of you who attended, all of our presenters, our vendors, and sponsors. I want to give a special thank you to Massachusetts ACTE for help with the conference planning. I also what to thank Attleboro High School and Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School for opening their schools for site tours.

We exceeded our attendance goal and had the second highest attendance that I can remember in the past 10 years with 186 attendees! I hope that those that attended found great value at the conference. In addition to a great keynote by Dr. Kevin Fleming, we had great breakouts and awards luncheon. I want to congratulate all those who were nominated and especially those who won a “Best in CTE Region I Award” or an “ACTE Region I Excellence Award.” Those that won an Excellence Award will represent Region I at the 2025 ACTE CareerTech VISION awards gala where each of the five regions will have a nominee.
