Greetings, Region III Members!

Looking Forward to VISION!


I know it is a few months away, but it is only a few months away, and I am looking forward to spending time in Nashville, Tennessee in December. If you haven’t registered, put it on your to-do list! We will have our business meeting in person and other events in addition to the amazing opening and closing sessions, concurrent sessions, and our amazing exhibitors!  


I am excited to see you all at VISION!

News from Across Region III

Your region has been busy throughout the summer and the start of school. Here’s what has been happening in the different states:

Illinois


  • State Conference in February


  • The state association is updating strategic plan and updating committees to align with strategic plan.


  • New website getting ready to launch

Indiana


  • Just completed the state conference with 410 attendees. It was the 60th anniversary. There were 30 vendors and sponsors. CTSO students participated in the conference.


  • There was a pre-conference for new CTE teachers with 150 attendees


  • Had other pre-conference sessions that drew an additional 75 individuals

Iowa


  • Just had board of delegates meeting, working to realign awards schedule to align with CTE Day at Capitol and better align with Region III awards.


  • Hired consultant to do a stakeholder deep dive to help increase membership.

Minnesota


  • State conference happens Nov. 12–13
  • Working on updating career clusters from Advance CTE
  • New CTE teachers induction
  • New track for school admin to learn about Perkins

Wisconsin


  • Region III Conference being held in June at U-W Stout. Make plans to be there the week of June 15–18. Stay tuned for more information.


The state is getting ready to form an association. In need of board members, also need an official address for their office. Hope to have association up and going by Thanksgiving. If you live in Wisconsin and want to help, please reach out to Martin Hanley.

Student Video Contest: Gateway to the Cosmos — NASA’s Lunar Outpost


ACTE and NASA HUNCH invite students of all ages to enter the eighth annual Student Video Challenge: Gateway to the Cosmos — NASA’s Lunar Outpost. This year’s theme explores NASA’s Gateway as a vital stepping stone for humankind’s return to the moon and exploration of deep space. Students are challenged to imagine its impact on science, technology and humanity — while showcasing the CTE courses and careers that make it possible. Together, let’s celebrate a century of CTE excellence while inspiring the next generation of innovators who will lead us into the cosmos. Open to individuals or teams. Submit a two-minute video by April 1.
