2023-2024 Benefits Enrollment is OPEN!

Check your email for all of the details including morning and afternoon session presentations and video recordings, benefits brochure and highlights on this year's changes, plus a step-by-step online enrollment guide.

IMPORTANT ENROLLMENT REMINDERS

• Enrollment deadline is August 17, 2023. 
• This is not a passive enrollment meaning your benefits do not automatically roll over to the next year.
• If you do not enroll by the deadline, you will not be covered for the upcoming school year.
• Should you have issues signing into the enrollment portal, please email our ABA representative, Violet, at [email protected] to unlock your account.

Have You Met?

Veronica Lerma has joined the ESC as Coordinator for Coordinated Special Education in the Special Education Department. Her first day was July 10, 2023. 

Dr. James Curtis has joined ESC Division of Executive Services as Grants Administrator. His first day was July 10, 2023. 

Dr. Gisela Saenz has joined the ESC as Educator Preparation and Development Program Administrator under the Division of Leadership and Community Impact. Her first day was July 10, 2023. 

Cecilia Gomez has joined the ESC in the Guidance, Counseling and Mental Health Department as Specialist for Mental Health Secondary Specialization. Her first day was July 10, 2023. 

Erika Leal has joined the ESC in the Purchasing Department as Buyer for Cooperative Purchasing. Her first day was July 10, 2023. 

Paula Garcia has joined the ESC Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Department as Early Literacy Specialist. Her first day was July 10, 2023. 

New Role within Region One ESC

Adam Mares has joined the Division of Technology Solutions as PEIMS/Data Analyst.

Sylvia Escobar has joined the Division of Technology Solutions as Instructional Technology Coordinator. Her first day was June 29, 2023. 

Volunteers Needed for the United Way "In-Style" Shopping Spree!

Once again, United Way of South Texas will hold their annual back-to-school event assisting students prepare for the new school year. This year 150 middle school students will be given a $150 gift certificate to purchase school attire and personal hygiene items. Volunteers are needed to accompany the students as they make their purchases.

Participating school districts this year include McAllen ISD, Mercedes ISD, Mission CISD, Monte Alto ISD, Rio Grande City Grulla ISD, Roma ISD, Sharyland ISD, South Texas ISD, and Valley View ISD. Districts that support United Way in Hidalgo and Starr Counties participate on a rotating basis.

Place: Target Store-Las Tiendas Shopping Center (Expressway 83 & McColl Road)

Time: Volunteers need to arrive by 6:30 am
