Region V Business Meeting

The Region V business meeting will be held on Dec. 4 at 3:00 p.m. EST. Please check the ACTE website and the conference app for details on location.

2024-25 Region V Important Dates

Your Region V policy committee members have been hard at work preparing several opportunities for us to meet and collaborate with Region V members. Check out this calendar of events and opportunities to engage and connect with one another, both virtually and in person! As opportunities are added, we will continue to update this document and share with you! Region V Calendar. This calendar includes hotlinks to a variety of helpful tools and materials for you. Check them out!

Save the Date: April 30–May 3 in Las Vegas, Nevada

The Nevada ACTE conference planning team is excited to host the 2025 Region V Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada from April 30 – May 3 at the Southpoint Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas! This event promises to be a valuable opportunity for networking, learning, and professional development.

The analogy of "rolling the dice" in Las Vegas aptly illustrates the uncertainty and risk involved in trying new approaches in the classroom. Just like in a game of chance, introducing innovative teaching methods or materials can bring unpredictable outcomes—sometimes resulting in success, while other times, not yielding the desired results. However, despite the uncertainties, taking these risks is an integral part of growth and improvement in education. Each attempt, even if it doesn’t turn out as expected, offers valuable insights and the opportunity to learn and refine strategies for future success. The key is to embrace the uncertainty, learn from both successes and setbacks, and adapt accordingly to continually enhance the learning experience for students. This is what CTE educators do best!

Learn more and register now. Early bird registration is $450 for ACTE members and ends on Feb. 1. After Feb. 1, pricing increases to $475 for ACTE members. After April 11 the prices increase to $500 for ACTE members.

Call for Presentation Proposals is currently open and the deadline to submit is Nov. 1.

If you have any questions about registration or the call for presentations, please reach out to Jenn Fisk at Jefisk99@gmail.com.

ACTE Region V Leadership-Fellowship Program

The purpose of the Region V Fellowship Program is to establish a leadership development program for CTE Educators in ACTE Region V and assist individuals in further developing their leadership skills in CTE and their involvement in professional associations, provide an opportunity for CTE Educators to become familiar with and participate in the processes used by policy makers in the development and implementation of laws, regulations, and other public policies at the local, state, and federal levels, and identify, train, and motivate a cadre of leaders who will continue to position ACTE as a leader in developing an educated, prepared, adaptable, and competitive workforce.

The Region V Fellowship Program is a two-year commitment, including leadership development, public policy learning, and professional development. Candidates are expected to participate in the National Policy Seminar, ACTE's CareerTech VISION, and the ACTE Region V conference, as well as engage in monthly conference calls. Applications will be due May 1. The updated application will be available soon.

Region V Strategic Plan

There are six areas of focus: advocacy and awareness, member value and engagement, inclusion, access, equity, and diversity, professional and leadership development, strategic partnerships, and teacher recruitment and retention.

We are looking for experts in Region V that have experience, expertise, and knowledge to support the strategic plan components. Do you have ways you can support the Region V strategic plan? Please contact one of the policy committee members.
