Summer Quarterly News Update | |
It is an honor begin my term as the ACTE Region V vice president and supporting all the Region’s fantastic career and technical educators.
Before I begin my introduction, I would like to thank Shani Watkins for her service not only during her term as the Region V vice president but also her long-standing dedication to the Region. Region V is a stronger because of her leadership and commitment to career and technical education.
For those members who have not met me before, I am Craig Statucki. I currently work as the director of the Office of Career Readiness, Adult Learning and Education Options at the Nevada Department of Education. Prior to my arrival at the Department in March 2020, I was a career and technical education (CTE) administrator and teacher with the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada.
My most recent role within Region V was serving as the Region V awards chair. I also served on the ACTE Region V policy committee, was president of the ACTE’s National Executive Director Association, and was inducted in the ACTE Region V Hall of Fame in April 2020. I have been very active in CTE and served in several leadership roles at the state, region, and national levels including the Board of Directors for Nevada ACTE as president before becoming their executive director for five years.
I look forward to serving as your Region V vice president and excited to see what comes next.

Sincerely,
Craig Statucki
ACTE Region V Vice President

The Nevada ACTE conference planning team is excited to host the 2025 Region V Conference in Las Vegas Nevada from April 30 – May 3 at the Southpoint Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas! This event promises to be a valuable opportunity for networking, learning, and professional development.
The analogy of "rolling the dice" in Las Vegas aptly illustrates the uncertainty and risk involved in trying new approaches in the classroom. Just like in a game of chance, introducing innovative teaching methods or materials can bring unpredictable outcomes—sometimes resulting in success, while other times, not yielding the desired results. However, despite the uncertainties, taking these risks is an integral part of growth and improvement in education. Each attempt, even if it doesn’t turn out as expected, offers valuable insights and the opportunity to learn and refine strategies for future success. The key is to embrace the uncertainty, learn from both successes and setbacks, and adapt accordingly to continually enhance the learning experience for students. This is what CTE educators do best!
Learn more and register now. Early bird registration is $450 for ACTE members and ends on Feb. 1. After Feb. 1, pricing increases to $475 for ACTE members. After April 11 the prices increase to $500 for ACTE members.
Call for Presentation Proposals is currently open and the deadline to submit is Nov. 1.
If you have any questions about registration or the call for presentations, please reach out to Jenn Fisk at Jefisk99@gmail.com.
