At Regional Assembly gathers members and friends from 44 congregations that make up the Christian Church in Oregon and SW Idaho. We are from two states, worship in three languages, worship in houses, rented spaces, buildings we own, and on fields where we hope to build buildings. We are congregations as long serving as 175 years plus and as new as 3 years old.

And we serve one God. Together we will share worship, meet church leaders, reunite with friends and make new ones hosted by Salem First Christian Church.
Belva Brown Jordan
Moderator
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
in the United States and Canada

We are excited to announce that our Moderator for the Christian Church will be with us Friday night for the pastors dinner and our Friday evening worship service. Rev. Brown is visiting with us and then zipping up to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho to attend the Northern Lights Regional Assembly on Saturday which is the same weekend as ours.

Rev. Brown's position as Moderator is a volunteer position, elected by the General Assembly of the Christian Church.

She serves as the Interim President of the Disciples Seminary Foundation in Claremont, California. and serves as Associate Professor of the Practice of Ministry at Claremont School of Theology.

Rev. Jordan began her ministerial career as a denominational executive for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with the Division of Homeland Ministry (Indianapolis, IN) as the director of racial/ethnic ministry. Jordan’s first faculty appointment was with Lancaster Theological Seminary (Lancaster, PA). After eight years at Lancaster, having earned tenure and served as dean of the faculty for one year, she moved on to Harvard University Divinity School (Cambridge, MA). For seven years Rev. Jordan served as the assistant dean for student life at Harvard Divinity. When the opportunity presented itself to serve in a Disciples of Christ affiliated seminary, Rev. Jordan became the associate dean for admissions and student services at Phillips Theological Seminary (Tulsa, OK).
Assembly Choir
Salem First Christian will host an assembly choir directed by Gary Frame that will sing one anthem during the Saturday afternoon session. The anthem will be available before hand and rehearsal will happen the week before the assembly and during the workshop period on Saturday on site. Watch this space for more details.
You can register now and pay later by check or on line. We just want to know you are coming. We have reduced the price by $10.00 per person from 4 years ago. We have offered a first time attender discount. Kids and Youth are invited to come to programs that are offered for free. We hope this will help more people decide to come. We will be streaming some parts of the service, for now we need to know who plans to come in person.

We just need to know that you plan to come.
Let us know and tell your friends to come with you!

If you cannot come, yet you want to help the assembly provide a gathering for the region, consider making a donation to the costs of the assembly, since this year we are reducing the cost to participants but costs to provide the assembly are higher than previous years.

If you cannot come, but want to send items for the mission project, here is the list of items you can send or bring to Salem FCC.

We look forward to hearing from you!!
Programs and resources are provided to you by your Regional Church and the whole church ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) which are supported by Disciples Mission Fund, Annual Fund gifts, the Christmas Offering, designated gifts, and invested funds Learn more about the Christian Church in Oregon and SW Idaho HERE.
