A Letter from our Executive Director
This summer, like so many, my family has enjoyed watching the Broadway musical, “Hamilton”. This show, now turned movie, is based on the life of one of our country’s founders, Alexander Hamilton. Hamilton’s core drive is presented as his desire to make a difference with the life and the opportunity he has been given, even despite difficult situations. The refrain, “I am not throwin’ away my…shot!” is repeated throughout the tremendous musical score. Reflecting on these words, I think that we are at a CRITICAL point in time in our community: I see so many who have responded during these challenging times with resiliency and passion to help our community recover during this difficult season. . My challenge for us all is to not miss our “shot” in doing the hard work of rebuilding a more equitable community for all. At United Way, we fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in our community. And the fight is not over.

Together, we can make a difference because United We’re Strong!
