The Arabian Horse Association of the San Fernando Valley created a one-of-a kind opportunity for its youth members, the Scottsdale Experience! Twenty-four youth club members jumped at the chance to take a four-day road trip and discover the excitement behind the "Greatest Show on Earth." Many parents choose to tag along which brought the group number to almost fifty! The purpose of this experience was to expose new families to the Arabian breed and get them fully immersed and involved. AHASFV is looking forward to furthering their interest with our community fun shows, horse camping trips, hippology, and judging teams.

The Illini Arabian Horse Club is proud to announce that we are partnering with the Working Western Celebration for 2022! Beginning in 2022 we are offering this show at the Gordyville Arena, in Gifford, IL just outside Rantoul!
Our show will have the popular RANCH HORSE classes in ranch riding, rail, reining, cutting and conformation in the open, amateur, novice, and youth divisions. There will also be CATTLE classes in working, reined cow, boxing, drive-box-drive, and herd work classes in these same divisions. Cattle practice will be held the afternoon of April 1, 2022. There will be complete trail and reining divisions as well!
We are so excited to offer this show in 2022! Please come see us and participate in this new venture! We are looking forward to seeing you all there! For further information contact:

The Central States Arabian Horse Association is proud to announce the creation of the Sharon Keating Memorial Scholarship.
Sharon Keating loved sharing her Arabians; she was an avid Arabian horse lover, breeder of National Champions, and loyal friend. Over the years she encouraged friends to show her Arabians in local fun shows, Class A, Regional, and even National shows. Sharon could often be found on the rail cheering for her friends when they showed their horses, or hers. Sharon was also a founding member and Vice President of the Central States Arabian Horse Association Club.
In July 2021, Sharon lost her battle with cancer after a long fight. To honor her love of the Arabian breed and generosity in sharing her Arabians, several members of the Central States Arabian Horse Association created and began the funding for the Sharon Keating Memorial Scholarship.
The goal of the Sharon Keating Memorial Scholarship is to provide monetary assistance to newcomers who want to show an Arabian or Half-Arabian horse. Our objective is to provide one new person with the opportunity to show an Arabian at a “Class A” show through a $250 scholarship to cover all or part of the cost of stall, entry fees, class fees, etc.
Scholarship criteria:
- Applicant must be new to showing horses, preference given to those who have never shown before.
- Applicant must be a member in good standing of the Central States Arabian Horse Association (AHA Club #11226).
- All disciplines are encouraged to apply.
- All age divisions are eligible to apply.
Applications for the 2022 Sharon Keating Memorial Scholarship are due April 1, and the scholarship will be awarded by April 15, 2022, and may be used at any Region 11 “Class A” show during the year.

BAHA is ready for 2022!
Mark your calendars for the FIRST Tuesday evening of every month. Each month we will have an informal get together, in hopes to better connect and engage our club members. Locations will vary each month from dinners, tours, educational seminars and so much more! Stay tuned for our facebook page for more information each month. Our February event was a success and those who attended were a huge help! We hosted a pot luck brunch at the home of Roxy Reed and everyone pitched in to organize our club ribbons, prizes and hospitality stock.
We will meet March 1st at Claudia Sander's Dinner House in Shelbyville, Kentucky at 6:30pm and we hope to see you there!
Our youth group will also be meeting once a month as well! The youth already held their first event of 2022 at Trillium Run Farm in LaGrange, Kentucky on February 13th and it was a hit! Twenty kids braved a rather chilly day and learned show braiding and got to practice their braiding skills on the horses. They also painted wooden horses to use as name tags at future events and then warmed up with some hot chocolate and brain-stormed ideas for things they wanted to do and learn in 2022. They came up with amazing ideas that will keep us busy all year long. In fact, they have events scheduled for each month of the year. The next event is learning about show attire, hair, makeup and show-ring presentation. It will be held March 13th at 2:00 PM at the home of Holly Kratzenberg. Please reach out to Holly Kratzenberg via Facebook or contact us at bluegrassarabian@gmail.com if you would like more information. You do not have to be a member of BAHA to join us! And watch for more events from the BAHA youth. They are planning road trips to the Al-Marah Arabian Horse Galleries at the Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky, a movie night, drawing contest, talks from farriers, vets, judges, and lots more. This is a fun group of kids with all kinds of enthusiasm for the Arabian Horse!

We would like to send a BIG congrats to long time club member, Tom Snyder, on winning the 2021 Frequent Rider Program (FRP) High Hour Award! Thomas logged a total of 586 hours on his Purebred Arabian mare MSU SHEYENNE between January 1 and December 31, 2021!
Thomas says that he appreciates "the Arabian Horse Association for a program recognizing activities outside of the show ring; that is where most of us enjoy our Arabians. MSU SHEYENNE will never wear a garland of roses, but proudly wears the distinction of Companion Arabian.”
