Congratulations to Annette Wells and Penny Wardlaw!
Annette and Penny were named volunteers of the year by AHA! Annette has been Region 2 Treasurer for over 40 year and is now retiring. Wine Country AHA News

Wine Country AHA had 3 delegates who participated in the Virtual 2020 Convention. We all enjoyed it. We did miss seeing our friends, but was nice to be able to attend more meetings.

Wine Country AHA along with Red Bluff AHA hosted a Virtual Bingo Game during Convention. Everyone had a great time. We were able to have our Open All Breed show in November, it was very successful. Nice to see so many different breeds. The Working Equitation clinic was the same weekend as the Open show so we were a bit busy going back and forth, both events were very successful. We have one more Sue Curry Dressage Clinic in December coming up. Our Holiday party will be going virtual this year, December 13th, be able to chat, play games, sing holiday carols. Wishing everyone a safe Merry Christmas and a Happy and safe New Year.

Congratulations to our Bingo Winners 1st Game: Carrie Olson
2nd Game: Kelly Kenneally
3rd Game: Cricket Gates, Kaye Pheuf, Laurie Tibbs
4th Game: Cheryl Lane Canon, Stacy Dunn
The above received 25.00 Gift Certificates
Blackout Game Winner $100.00 Gift Card to Cheryl Lane Canon

Region 13 News

As we close out the year 2020, none too soon, in most people’s opinion, there are still many things to be thankful for in our lives, like our wonderful, amazing Arabian horses and the many gifts they bring to us. Through interaction with our horses, gifts like friendships, competition, passion and teamwork come to mind. As we move through 2021, let’s hope we can look back on 2020, and be thankful that one of the things that kept us all together was our love for Arabian horses and the goals to keep riding, showing, competing and supporting our Arabian friends and community.

Hopefully, 2021 will bring us some sense of normalcy. There will be no qualifications needed for Regional or National shows. Great news! This will hopefully mean that more exhibitors can experience and compete at these levels. With this, however, there is a concern that clubs and shows within our Regions, could continue to see less involvement and support. Many clubs and their shows experienced financial hardships and loss of members this past year. Your membership in a local club, in Your Region, gives you a voice in the future of Your Arabian horse industry. Please remember this, as we hopefully begin to be able to show our horses again, and support your local clubs and shows!
SO….. get ready for a great year!!

Thankful. All of us here at Region 14 are thankful for YOU. Despite the challenges that 2020 may have brought to us, our members have spent countless hours showing up for zoom meetings, made the best of a show season, and shared their Arabian horses virtually, and did it all with a smile on their face. We are grateful for you!

In November our region was well represented during the first ever Virutal AHA Convention. We were all able to tune into more committee meetings than usual, giving all an option to learn more facets of our industry. We held a virtual regional caucus meeting that was well attended as well. We are also welcoming back our current board of directors for another term. This group has worked well together, so we know the future is bright!

Jeff Caldwell, President
Dave Daugherty, Vice-President
Jennifer Tucker, Second Vice-President
Debbie Swigart, Secretary
Joe Hull, Treasurer

We look forward to seeing everyone at our next Regional meeting. The meeting will be held via Zoom on January 17th, 2021 at 1:00 pm. All regional members will receive an e-blast email with a link to register for the meeting.

The Region 14 awards will now be going electronic! Our new awards committee has been working hard to update our award categories and voting process. To encourage participation, we will take our nomination process and voting to an electronic system that we think you will all enjoy! Our committee members have been testing the process and give it two thumbs up so far. Stay tuned over the next month for more information.

Do you have an event you would like us to share here or on our social media platforms? Please email us at [email protected] as we'd love to include you!
Bluegrass AHA
In October, we held our annual Falling Leaves Trail Ride for our members.
What a great day we had! Big thanks to Bannon Woods Farm for hosting and sponsoring our day. They even decorated the farm and it was too cute! The weather ended up being just right, the fall colors were showing off, the horses enjoyed themselves and we all just had the best time. Thank you to those who joined us, new faces and faces we missed seeing so much. It was perfect! Sometimes we all just need a simple day with our horse people to make the world go round!
The Bluegrass Arabian Horse Association will host its annual high point awards banquet on January 30th at the Finchville Ruritan Club. At the moment, we look to host this event, but know that we will follow current CDC and state recommendations as we approach that date, so this event may end up being held virtually. Stay tuned for more information!

The 17th Annual BAHA Spring Blast Horse Shows is currently scheduled for April 23rd through 25th, 2021. Again, as we approach 2021, we will consistently be watching state and CDC guidelines for this horse show. Follow us on facebook or our website at www.bluegrassarabians.org for current information.
The Region 15 Championship Show will be held at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, VA
The Firecracker Classic Pre- Show is July 7, 2021 and the Championship Show is July 8-11, 2021.
Judges will be announced soon. Follow us on Facebook at Region 15 Arabian Horse Association for all the details.
Please contact any of our regional clubs for more information or to become a member:
