OREGON SOUTH COAST REGIONAL TOURISM NETWORK
TSOC'S FALL IN LOVE WITH THE SOUTHERN OREGON COAST, AGAIN CAMPAIGN

TSOC has partnered with communities along the southern Oregon coast to create a social media campaign encouraging visitors to travel to the south coast during the shoulder season. The campaign is piggy-backed on the Travel Oregon campaign "Welcome to Oregon, again" by reiterating "again" in an effort to offer something recognizable to in-state and out-of-state nearby travelers.

The campaign will run from October 15 through December 15. Keep an eye out for these campaign ads on social media and help us spread the word through likes/comments/shares! We hope, in turn, we draw some much-needed extra visitors during our shoulder season.
TOURISM AND CLIMATE ACTION WATCH PARTY, OCT 12

Travel Oregon, along with Tourism Declares, The Travel Foundation, and Oregon Coast Visitors Association, are hosting a Tourism and Climate Action Watch Party. Climate change has the potential to significantly impact travel and tourism in the coming years, but our sector also has a tremendous opportunity to be a catalyst for change, and to do so it is imperative that we work closely together.

Travel Oregon is inviting you to create a watch party with your networks, board of directors, key stakeholders, and/or tourism leaders in your region or community on October 12 from 4-5:30pm. You do not need to be an expert or committed to a climate action plan to engage in this conversation. A keynote presentation by Jeremy Sampson, CEO of the Travel Foundation, Chair of the Future of Tourism Coalition, and Chair of the Destinations Working Group for Tourism Declares a Climate Emergency.

To host a watch party, all you need to do is:
  1. Let Travel Oregon know that you'd like to co-host a watch party.
  2. Choose a location with streaming capabilities.
  3. Invite your party.
  4. They'll do the rest (provide Zoom link details, facilitate questions, and next steps).
TRAVEL SOUTHERN OREGON COAST ON SOCIAL MEDIA

TSOC's Social Media is gaining traction and we're excited to share some of our exciting stats. Travel Southern Oregon Coast is moving up in the social media world as we are now on FOUR platforms - double the number of platforms we were on when we began in April 2019. We are now on Youtube and TikTok in addition to our Facebook and Instagram accounts.

As we were lucky enough to inherit our Facebook account with a base of 6,000 followers in April of 2019, we are thrilled to announce that we now have over 25,000 followers on Facebook who are engaging, sharing, and liking our posts.

For Instagram, we started from scratch in April of 2019 with zero followers and have grown to over 3500 followers.

We are still building our video library that will help us create a well-rounded Youtube account in the future. We're always on the lookout for great videos. If you have any to share, please reach out to us!

And most recently, we've added TikTok to our social media lineup. Our team is having a lot of fun shooting short videos on our phones and sharing our south coast beauty with the largest & fastest growing platform to date. We've posted 93 videos, gained almost 400 followers, and our most viewed video had 1,069 views. We can't wait to see what this new account has in store for us in the coming months.

Make sure to follow us on all of our platforms! CLICK THE LINKS BELOW.
TRAVEL OREGON'S "ONLY SLIGHTLY EXAGGERATED" CAMPAIGN - PART 3

In October 2021, Travel Oregon will launch its first out-of-state advertising since the start of the pandemic with the return of its successful cinematic, animated “Only Slightly Exaggerated” (OSE) campaign. Fresh creative, imbued with hope and optimism will remind Oregonians and potential visitors of the awe-inspiring vistas, abundant outdoor recreation, and cultural richness of the state. As the fall and winter seasons approach, communities are dependent on visitor spending more than ever. Travel Oregon’s campaign welcomes folks to plan memorable Oregon experiences that help support businesses across the state – helping local and state economies – all while reinforcing messages of safety and kindness to hospitality staff.

Travel Oregon is now offering a toolkit of media to share on your channels. The media from OSE parts one and two are available now. The newest media will be available later this month. Click the link below for the full description of how and where you can use the materials and download the assets.

COOS COUNTY CULTURAL COALITION NOW ACCEPTING GRANT APPLICATIONS

Got an idea for a new project to improve access to arts, music, culture in Coos County? Need a little cash to get the project off the ground?

Coos County Cultural Coalition, the local re-granting arm of The Oregon Cultural Trust, is now accepting grant applications. Normally applications are due on October 31 but due to the challenging current circumstances, the deadline has been extended until November 30, 2021. The grants are intended for projects taking place in 2022. Grant amounts are usually between $250 to $1200 and are intended to act as "seed money". The CCCC encourages applications for a new program in an existing organization or as a boost to buy materials or cover publicity costs for a one-time project of an individual artist or non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
