50% Of Build Grant Funds Reserved For Rural Areas - That's US Folks!
BUILD 2019 provides $900 million in competitive grant funds for surface transportation construction projects across all modes. Applications are due by July 15, 2019 and must be submitted through  Grants.gov .

US DOT’s Build Grant web page includes information about the program including the   notice of funding opportunity  and information on  webinars for prospective applicants . 

Note: T he proposal form needs to get shared back with ODOT on Thursday, June 20th. 
Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort OPEN For Business!

Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort says information about area closings is confusing customers. Julie Pimentel, resort representative said, "We are having a challenging year because the BLM announced that Loon Lake is closed due to winter storm damage, when indeed it is not the lake that is closed, but just the BLM campground. The resort has encountered a lot of cancellations and not much transfer business from the BLM campground."

The Bureau of Land Management announced in April that it's Loon Lake Recreation Site — including the lake’s main campground, day-use area and boat ramp — will not open for the 2019 summer season due to damage from the late February storm.

What was not made clear was that the nearby Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort were not damaged and are open for business.

Oregon Tourism Leadership Academy
This course is designed for Oregon’s hospitality industry professionals with executive potential. Recruits will go beyond the walls of their businesses to gain in-depth experiences and knowledge that will elevate their passion and excitement for our state’s extraordinary offerings.

Participants who complete the courses and meet the standards set will be certified. This certification assures industry and consumers that the assessed individual has met or exceeded the standards set by the Oregon Restaurant & Lodging Association (ORLA), Travel Oregon, Oregon’s Destination Management Organizations and a network of specialized facilitators.​
Battle Rock Audio Post
The Redfish Rocks Community Team has installed an audio-post at Battle Rock on the platform near the visitor center in Port Orford. 

Guests select a channel, crank the dynamo, and listen to recordings of sounds from our marine reserve.

Recordings are narrated by a community representative who presents facts about the marine reserve, the species recorded, and living in Port Orford.
