Keep An Eye On:
Senate Bill 595
Many tourism stakeholders statewide are in opposition to this bill.

SB 595: adjusts allocation percentages of net revenue from new or increased local transient lodging tax to allow up to 30% of such revenue to be used to fund affordable workforce housing.

Opponents state that while housing is a big issue throughout the state they believe the SB places an unfair penalty on hotels and burdens one industry with trying to fund a broad systemic challenge.
OCVA and the South Coast will be unveiling a new refreshed look. Join us at the May 15th Network meeting to see the new logos and talk regional marketing strategies.
Is the Oregon Coast Visitors Association working for you; Heck Yes!
The Network gets a lot of questions about what kind of representation the South Coast is getting from the Oregon Coast Visitors Association (OCVA).

The answer; a ton! OCVA has made some great directional changes and it shows.

Today's OCVA is not the OCVA of the past and they are working harder than ever on your behalf.

Don't take the Networks word for it. Click on the link below and see what they are working on. We think it is pretty impressive.
Concerned you don't have a $300,000 budget? Don't be. The Network and TSOC are working to identify strategies that will leverage regional dollars to give every South Coast community a bigger advertising and promotion reach.
Tourism Is An Economic Driver On The South Coast
So much so that the Coos Bay-North Bend Visitor & Convention Bureau (VCB) has adopted an ordinance to increase the local lodging tax by 2.5%.

The increase will approximately add $300,000 to the VCB's $440,000 existing budget.

The increase will allow the VCB to increase their advertising and promotion efforts and compete for visitors coast wide.
