Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics
Central Region & Southern Tier Torch Run May 16 - June 28, 2018

The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETRĀ®) is the largest public awareness vehicle and grass-roots fundraiser for  Special Olympics.  Known honorably as the "Guardians of the Flame", law enforcement members and Special Olympics athletes carry the "Flame of Hope" into the Opening Ceremony of local, state,  national and world competitions.    Annually, more than 97,000 dedicated and compassionate law enforcement members carry the "Flame of Hope," symbolizing courage and celebration of diversity uniting communities around the globe.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics engages law enforcement worldwide championing acceptance and inclusion for people with developmental disabilities, starting first with their own communities.  Nearly 10,000 law enforcement officers representing more than 200 agencies across the state participate in the torch run alone... and that's not counting the thousands more that take part in our other signature fundraisers across the state, raising over $2 million right here in New York in 2017.  Since its inception in 1986, New York Law Enforcement Torch Run has raised over $15 million to support local Special Olympics athletes.
2018 Law Enforcement Torch Run shirts are available for pre-order.  Short sleeve stay-dry $20, long sleeve stay-dry $30.
