AGMV SURVEY RESULTS
Residents in Dane and surrounding counties care most about renewable energy and green infrastructure, better access to community resources and good jobs, and better transportation and housing choices. These were the top priorities that came out of the Greater Madison Vision survey taken by nearly 9,200 people last fall.
WATER RESOURCES
NEW FLOOD RISK MAPPING APPLICATION AVAILABLE TO WISCONSIN COMMUNITIES
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services’ Climate and Health Program has released a new web-based tool to help local, regional, and state entities prepare for and respond to flooding events. The Wisconsin Flood Risk Mapping Application (WFRMA) is an interactive, user-friendly ArcGIS web application loaded with 30 statewide data layers that illustrate flood vulnerabilities and inform preparedness and response efforts.
PHOSPHORUS REDUCTION GRANTS AVAILABLE
Yahara WINS has included a total of $24,000 in its 2019 budget for grants to implement innovative projects that reduce the amount of phosphorus entering surface waters. Projects funded by Yahara WINS may reduce any source of phosphorus, including agricultural runoff and urban stormwater.
