CARPC SUPPORTS DEVELOPMENT OF PFAS STANDARDS
On November 14, 2019, CARPC adopted Resolution No. 2019-11 supporting the development of science-based PFAS standards for surface, ground, and drinking water. Such standards would be developed by the Departments of Health Services and Natural Resources to protect the health of humans, fish, and wildlife.
FROM THE DATA DESK
HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS
“Over the river and through the woods...” so begins a refrain that many of us relate to this time of the year. We at the CARPC Data Desk decided to channel the holiday spirit for our December data presentation. Read on for a fun, festive story about our region's changing household, family, and ancestral composition, as told by “Table DP02” of the ACS 1-Year estimates.
LOOKING FORWARD TO CENSUS 2020
With 2019 drawing to a close, the next decennial census is just around the corner! In addition to influencing the allocation of public resource funding, census data provides organizations like CARPC with critical data that supports community planning. Learn more about the census, how to participate, and how to spread the word at 2020census.gov.
TRANSPORTATION NEWS
DANE COUNTY'S BIKE FRIENDLY COMMUNITIES
This fall, the Cities of Fitchburg, Madison, Sun Prairie, and Verona received Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) awards from the League of American Bicyclists. These awards were achieved thanks in large part to a wide variety of plans, initiatives, studies, and programs coordinated by CARPC's new roommate, the Madison Area Transportation Planning Board.
