TwoBoard election ballots due December 12
Completed ballots for IMRF's Executive Trustee election must be received by IMRF's Springfield or Oak Brook office by 4:30 PM (CST), December 12, 2017. The five-year term of office will run from January 1, 2018, through December 31, 2022.

IMRF mailed election ballots and candidate biographies to Authorized Agents or governing bodies (as appropriate) on October 11, 2017. Authorized Agents may cast a ballot in an Executive Trustee election provided they have been given authority by their governing body. If an Authorized Agent does not have voting authority, as indicated on Form 2.20, "Notice of Appointment of Authorized Agent" on file, and the governing body would like to grant a person authority to participate in IMRF elections, IMRF needs to receive a new Form 2.20.

Refer to the 2017 Board Elections page of IMRF's website for additional election information.

Avoid Erroneous Reporting
It is not unusual for one unit of government to provide payroll services for another unit of government, particularly for a cooperative organized under the Intergovernmental Cooperation Act or for a joint educational program. However, an IMRF employer providing these payroll services may be erroneously reporting employees of another employer to IMRF under their employer number.

Read more about IMRF's r eporting guidelines and the consequences of erroneously reporting an employee who has no statutory right to IMRF participation with your employer in the November 2017 Employer Reminder.
