CME Live Webinar: COVID-19 Updates for Family Medicine 2021
The FAFP continues to provide its members with excellent educational opportunities. Join us for FAFP's 14th COVID-19 webinar entitled "COVID-19 Updates for Family Medicine 2021: Testing, Treatment, and Vaccinations" on February 4, 2021 from 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm ET. This 1-hour webinar will be offered as a CME internet live course, not enduring. The activity will be available on the scheduled date/time and is only available in real-time. Featured speakers include Drs. Daniel Van Durme and Julia Weeks.

  1. Implement latest updates for COVID-19 testing
  2. Comply with newest treatment guidelines for COVID-19 in the out-patient setting

Capitol Update: 2021 Pre-Session Committee Weeks
As the pandemic crisis and response efforts continue to dominate our nation’s public health
discussion, legislators formally began their pre-legislative session interim committee process. And,
as expected, COVID-related issues were the main topics of the discussion. Impacts on the state
budget, vaccine response, and liability protections were all discussed as legislators met in a socially-distanced environment with highly restricted public access to the Capitol Complex. Legislation is also beginning to get filed on myriad topics. Whether these non-COVID related issues can be addressed in this unique environment remains to be seen as the legislature prepares for the upcoming session.

Have You Registered to Provide the COVID Vaccine?
The State of Florida is encouraging physicians and medical practices to register to provide COVID Vaccine to your patients. Although there is not a sufficient supply available, readiness preparations are in progress. To become a COVID-19 vaccine provider, your organization must be enrolled in Florida SHOTS and the Vaccines for Children/Adult Program.

Important message regarding license expiration dates: As part of the response efforts to the Novel Coronavirus 2019 (COVID- 19), State Surgeon General, Scott Rivkees has extended the licensure renewal expiration date until March 31, 2021 for any health care practitioner with licensure renewal deadlines between December 31, 2020 and March 01, 2021.
