Part I:

Do you ever wonder what neurodiversity encompasses? And how does grasping this concept influence our interactions with the children and families? In Part I, we will discuss relevant terminology and trace the historical trajectory of the neurodiversity movement. Join us as we begin to explore the intricacies of embracing a neurodiversity-affirming approach and the transformative influence on our interactions with the diverse spectrum of individuals and families we encounter.

FACILITATED BY:

Lauren Lamore-Chen, MAT serves in a dual role as a Developmental Specialist and Service Coordinator with the Arlington Parent-Infant Education Program. She has worked in early intervention in a variety of systems within Northern Virginia for the past 8 years. Prior to that, she worked as a special education teacher in DC.  She has a passion for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and has presented on the topic at national and international assistive technology conferences.

Jen Saddington PT, DPT is a physical therapist with the Infant-Toddler Connection of Fairfax-Falls Church. In addition to providing physical therapy and assessments for service planning, Jen helps manage the 300+ assistive technology items in their loan closet. She has worked in early intervention in Northern Virginia, primarily in Fairfax County, for the past 11 years.
