Parent-Led Intervention Strategy for Feeding Problems

Talks on Tuesdays are monthly webinars held at noon on the first Tuesday of each month, focusing on important topics that are relevant for EI practitioners. Guest speakers are chosen for each webinar to deliver content and answer questions.

DESCRIPTION:

Join Kimberly Holt, MS OTR/L, to apply parent-led intervention strategy to feeding and mealtime challenges in infants and toddlers. Brush up on the development of feeding and red flags for feeding challenges from birth to age three. Then, learn how to empower families to address feeding issues early through the parent-led intervention strategy framework. This presentation is designed for early intervention and home visiting professionals who support families with infants and toddlers in the home setting, including service coordinators.

Kimberly Holt, MS OTR/L

is a dedicated Occupational Therapist with over 17 years of experience specializing in pediatric care. Currently working at the Child Developmental Services Agency in Greenville, NC, she provides therapy services to families with children from birth to three years old. Kimberly has extensive experience in various settings, including schools, daycares, and clinics, and has worked with children of all ages to improve their functional skills. She has specialized training in multiple feeding approaches, including SOS. Kimberly has also presented at conferences and educational institutions on feeding delays and sensory versus behavioral issues. She holds a master’s degree in occupational therapy from East Carolina University. She is pursuing a Post-Professional Occupational Therapy Doctorate at the Medical University of South Carolina, with an expected graduation in May 2025.
