Part I (March 7th):

We will discuss the challenges in identifying girls with characteristics of Autism, what signs might be missed, why diagnosis may take more time, and the consequences to these girls and their families. There will be an emphasis on the research in this subject including scientific data supporting differences in gender in ASD.

FACILITATED BY:

Dr. Subarna Dharia is a pediatrician with a special interest in development and behavior of young children, especially early diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. She has worked in private practice for several years before providing support to Fairfax County's Early Intervention program for the past 13 years. She enjoys teaching students, pediatric residents, and parents the benefits of applying current research into practice and values collaboration with her colleagues and community partners for optimal outcomes!
