The OvertonFirst class reunion (1962-1965) will be held Fiday and Saturday evenings, April 20-21, 2010.

Friday evening, April 20, 2012, Welcome Reception and "sock hop" with a DJ and art show at the gym at Overton High School, 1770 Lanier, Memphis.

Saturday evening, April 21, 7-midnite - OvertonFirst banquet, at the Racquet Club, 5111 Sanderlin, Memphis.  We have engaged a live band, Reflections, led by two members of the Class of '64 -- the band who did such a wonderful job in 2007, to get us in the mood for those great days 1959-1965.

To register for the 2012 reunion, please click here: http://overtonfirst.net/register/

Attendees will need to make their own hotel reservations if needed.  We have arranged special rates with the Doubletree (walking distance from the Racquet Club) and two other nearby hotels.  For more information see http://overtonfirst.net/reunion2012/

Class Gift: OvertonFirst Has You Covered!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gym floor cover As our Class Gift to the school we have committed to donate a plastic floor covering which can be used to protect the basketball floor and allow the school to use the gym for other events -- like our Friday night reception and "sock hop" at the Overton gym.
The covering will be dedicated by us in honor of the coaches and physical education staff members who were there during our four years.
We are asking every OvertonFirst graduate to make a donation of at least $15 per person, whether or not you are able to join us at the celebration in April.  All our small contributions add up!  To contribute, click here: http://overtonfirst.net/register/
Overton Arts Fair
During the day on Saturday, between our two scheduled OvertonFirst reunion events, there will be a grand Arts Fair and celebration for all 50 graduating classes, on the grounds of Overton High School.
Alumni from all classes are welcome to attend and participate in the Overton 50th Anniversary Arts Fair, Saturday, April 21, 2012, 9-5 at the school.  We scheduled our reunion on the same weekend so that out-of-town alumni can enjoy the Arts Fair if they wish.
Reflections will be doing a set, along with many other nationally and internationally known graduates.  If you would like to participate as one of the Talented Alumni (displaying art or performing), please contact Mr. Greg Billings, Vice Principal for Creative and Performing Arts, 901-416-2142, BillingsGR@mcsk12.net
For a preview of the fun to come, check out this television clip about the 2011 Arts Fair at Overton.  This event is being planned by today's Overton, a magnet school for the Arts, and its many talented faculty and students.
Additional information about the Anniversary Arts Fair will be posted as it becomes available at http://www.mcsk12.net/schools/overton.hs/site/index.shtml
Can't Wait to See you!
We have tried hard to contact everyone from our classes, but there are still folks we have not been able to locate.  Please pass the word to everyone you are in touch with, and ask them to send their contact information to us so we can include them in the reminder emails.  Postcards are in the mail to all the paper mail addresses we have on file, but again, there may be people we have missed.  Please help us gather as many classmates as possible for this milestone anniversary -- the 50th anniversary of the school itself as well as "our" 50th!
All best wishes,
Champ and Joyce
Dr. Champ Thomas, OHS '62, Chairman of the Reunion
Joyce Wilcox Graff, OHS '62, Corresponding Secretary
