This year's Region I conference promises to be an outstanding opportunity to learn more about everything from fundraising, to volunteer management, to techniques used in the arena.
We all know the importance of our volunteers--from helping out in lessons, to helping out with events, to serving on our boards and committees. Three presentations during the conference are sure to enhance your work and success with volunteers, including more effective board work, creating events that work for you (run in large part by volunteers) and improving overall volunteer satisfaction and retention!
On Friday, the conference will start off with a special 1/2 day pre-conference workshop by KC Henry, principal of Transitions Unlimited (formerly the Executive Director of HHRF and prior to that Fieldstone Farm). KC will focus on how to work with board members to increase the fundraising capacity of your board. This is a great workshop for executive directors, development directors or any board members to attend.
On Saturday, Jeanna Pellino and Megan McNamara of Manes and Motions will present on how to create a successful volunteer program from recruitment to training to retention. This promises to be an interactive presentation where ideas will be shared from all in attendance.
Also on Saturday, a panel from Riding To The Top including staff, a Board member and a Committee volunteer will present on how RTT transformed an Auction that raised roughly $25,000 per year to over $125,000! This panel will discuss how events either do or don't work for organizations and how to make your events more successful using simple principles.
