You are invited to spend a day learning from special guest speakers, diverse panelists, elected officials, policy makers and civil servants on topics such as:
  • The intersection of democracy and economics - how participatory budgeting could help bay area youth afford to remain living here as adults.
  • Using engagement frameworks for rethinking education, innovation and how cities successfully engage citizens on contentious issues.
  • Applying collaborative research methods that prevent the conflict between authenticity and action-ability, identifying common ground for action.

Stay for a second day of certification workshops and load your toolkit with participatory budgeting solutions, civic engagement frameworks and best practices to include citizens and residents in improving our communities.

----  About Every Voice Engaged Foundation ----

Every Voice Engaged Foundation (EVEF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that helps citizens, governments and nonprofit organizations solve problems that benefit from effective civic engagement.  We target issues that are complex, divisive and multifaceted, bringing ordinary citizens into the conversation with governments, nonprofits and industry to solve challenging issues such as municipal budgeting, community redevelopment and urban planning and natural resource planning (such as the current water crisis in California). Our Participatory Budgeting programs including Budget Games, Budget Allocator, and Community Decides programs have been successfully implemented in cities around the world and over many years by San José, CA starting in 2011. We partner with The Kettering Foundation to tackle wicked problems through Common Ground for Action, the first and only platform for scalable Deliberative Decision Making.
