This intensive training program will provide useful materials and include plenary presentations and workshops designed to enhance the capacity of family defenders to advocate for their clients through a racial justice lens. The topics to be addressed are the examination of racial bias in family court, challenging racial bias in family court, and anti-racism litigation skills.

NYSDA has been certified by the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board as an Accredited Provider of Continuing Legal Education in the State of New York (2019–2022) in traditional and non-traditional formats. This transitional/nontransitional program has been approved in accordance with the requirements of the Continuing Legal Education Board for a maximum of 6.0 credit hours, of which 2.0 credit hours can be applied towards Ethics and Professionalism. No CLE credit may be earned for repeat attendance at any accredited CLE activity.
