This Former Flyover City Is Having a Serious Cultural and Culinary Renaissance

Since the onset of the pandemic, the US has experienced a cultural shift away from coastal metropolises as people have purchased RVs, pivoted to remote work, and in many cases, moved on to greener, more socially distant pastures. Like shaking up an Etch-A-Sketch, this cultural reset has allowed Americans to experience their country anew, with underrated, affordable, and previously ignored “flyover cities” like Oklahoma City at the forefront of that renaissance.

Travel Scholarship Applications due May 31
A travel scholarship for Brownfields 2022 includes complementary registration and housing for four nights, checking in Monday, August 15th and checking out Friday, August 19th. Travel scholarships do not include airfare, meals and incidentals, or other costs.

The Redevelopment Rodeo Rides Again!
Are you dealing with a brownfields beast? Take the bull by the horns! Bring your brown bull for a battle to the Redevelopment Rodeo at Brownfields 2022. Come and pitch your idea to the Redevelopment Wranglers to receive feedback and guidance on your project. The Wranglers are no greenhorns, they have battled with the wildest brownfields and bring technical expertise on land revitalization.
All applicants will receive assistance from their regional TAB provider on their submitted brownfields project. Selected applicants must attend Brownfields 2022 to participate. The Rodeo is scheduled for Thursday, August 18th at 2pm in Ballroom A/B.

2022 Environmental Justice Caucus
An important component of the National Brownfields Training Conference is the Environmental Justice Caucus. The Caucus is a locally driven event where people and organizations involved in Environmental Justice convene, share ideas, build relationships, and communicate directly with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
The EJ Caucus is a pre-conference event. This year’s Environmental Justice Caucus for Brownfields 2022 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma is being held:
