Philanthropy Addresses Food Insecurity and Sustainability in the Washington DC Area is this years' first topic for ABFE's monthly member spotlight series, Membership Mondays.

Join us for a conversation with ABFE Members, Rodney Trapp, Vice President for Advancement and Dwane Jones, Dean of UDCs College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability and Environmental Sciences, of the University of the District of Columbia.

The University of the District of Columbia (UDC) and UDC Foundation is a public historically black land-grant university in Washington D.C. Established in 1851, it is the only public university in the city. UDC is a member of the school of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and is dedicated to serving the needs of the community of the District of Columbia, and producing lifelong learners who are transformative leaders in the workforce, government, nonprofit sectors and beyond.

The University of the District of Columbia donated over 8000 tons of fresh produce to food pantries and soup kitchens throughout D.C. ABFE staff member and host, Kellye McKenzie, will lead the conversation with Mr. Trapp and Mr. Jones as they discuss food insecurities and sustainability and its impact on D.C. communities.
