The Carvana PPA Tour is pleased to present the Steamboat Open, a Colorado state and national qualifying tournament hosted at the Steamboat Tennis and Pickleball Complex over Labor Day Weekend, August 30 - September 1.

The Steamboat Open is open to the public and will identify the top amateur pickleball players in the region, with one hundred percent of tournament registration fees benefitting Stop Alzheimer’s Now (SAN), an organization focused on eradicating Alzheimer's disease by funding cutting-edge research aimed at finding a cure.

Each State Championship Medalist will qualify for the 2025 World Pickleball Championships in Dallas, Texas on November 3-9, 2025.

The Steamboat Springs Boys Tennis Team kicked off their season this week with more than 20 players on this very promising team. Coaches Jason Scicchitano and James Mac will lead the team throughout the season with fun-filled, active practices where the players will learn technique and strategy. Team members are playing challenge matches currently to work out who will have which spots in the lineup. We're excited to see the progress as the team undertakes their first matches in the upcoming weeks.

The construction on the Tennis Center continues, and the crew is making great progress replacing the membrane in sections. Next comes new insulation and new lights. Some indoor courts will be open during construction. We are informed about court closures only a few days before they need to happen, and we will block off courts as necessary in the CourtReserve system so that you are unable to reserve them. The available indoor courts are safe to occupy, although indoors is very noisy with machines and construction activities. The air quality inside is safe, with fans circulating air towards the open garage doors on each end of the courts. For those sensitive to noise and debris from construction, we encourage you to play outside in this nice weather (albeit hot!) All outdoor courts are open and provide a great way to play in a scenic setting.

Tennis is alive and well even during construction! A fabulous adult Nike Tennis Camp took place last weekend outside where the views can't get any better. Eager students improved their skills under the watchful eyes of the Director of Tennis, Jason Scicchitano, the Head Tennis Pro, Trevor Bain and Tennis Coach James Mac. We appreciate every camper who traveled from afar, and hope they have the best time here in Steamboat Springs.

The Center Court SMASH Committee members celebrated the success of our annual fundraising event this past week at Catamount. The group discussed what went well, what can be improved for next year, and decided on the theme for next year. Stay tuned!!! The tentative date for next year is July 28, 2026, so go ahead and mark your calendars!
