You can now compete for your school by joining the speech and debate competition team. A competition team is a group of students who are focused on a competitive, high-level development of skills. On the competition team, students learn how to write speeches, build arguments, and take those skills to competitions hosted online and in-person across the United States.
Events we cover: Limited preparation (impromptu/extemp), interp (acting), public address (Oratory/Informative), and debate (Congress, Lincoln Douglas, and Public Forum).
The goal of this class is to have fun while competing to win local, state, and national championships. Examples of tournaments include Jack Howe (CSULB), Stanford, UC Berkeley, the Middle School Tournament of Champions, CHSSA State, and NSDA Nationals. Tournament expenses are not included in the class fee.
