Looking for activities to help your child discover new interests while having fun after the school day? IPSF’s ACE program, offered in partnership with your school, is excited to provide engaging new enrichment classes right after school on the Sierra Vista campus for nominal fees.
Classes will be kept small to ensure optimal engagement for all students.

WINTER ACE CLASSES DESCRIPTIONS

AMC8 Test Prep
Learn advanced concepts to improve math problem solving skills needed for the AMC8 test. Topics covered: Area of Number Theory, Algebra, Geometry and Probability. This class is a great way to prep for the next AMC8 test date on January 17, 2023

Chess Club
Fun and Fight to your last piece. Learn the basic rules of the game, how to play chess effectively for fun, and strategies to win your battle in all phases of the game. Game Boards provided but you are welcome to bring your own!

Culinary Arts Tuesdays
If you like to cook and/or eat, then this class is for you! During this 1.5-hour, fun and interactive class, you will learn to sauté, bake, fry, grill, and much more. You will also be taught how to safely handle food and knives. This is a class that you can take trimester after trimester to build your abilities and try new recipes. We will be creating different dishes throughout the year. There's a lot to learn when working in a kitchen!
Content is the same for both Culinary Arts classes. Please only sign up for one.

Creative Writing
In this course, students will develop creative writing skills through an exploration of a variety of creative genres including poetry, short stories, plays, and creative non-fiction. While there will be a reading component to deepen student understanding of the nuances of each genre, the primary focus of the course will be for students to work on their craft by fully engaging in the writing process and producing their own original creative writing.

Dance - Beginner/Moderate
This class will be about technique and how to gain basic knowledge and rhythm of dance. Dancers will be challenged to learn 8 counts of a dance each week along with stretching and adding to each routine. Dance benefits the body through cardiovascular endurance, body and spatial awareness, as well as flexibility for healthy muscles and joints.

Yoga
In this class students will learn the fundamentals of yoga and why it is important. Through breathing exercises, stretching, and movement, students will learn how to manage stress while exercising. Students will also learn the importance of mindfulness and how to incorporate it through movement.
