IN-PERSON ACE IS BACK AT VENADO!

Looking for activities to help your child discover new interests while having fun after the school day? IPSF’s ACE program is excited to be offering engaging new enrichment classes right after school on the Venado campus for nominal fees.
Classes will be kept small to ensure optimal engagement and safety for all students.
Registration opens Thursday, August 19.

Homework Club
Homework Club is facilitated by Venado teachers and is open to all Venado Middle School students. The goal is to support students in achieving academic success by providing individual monitoring of homework completion and assistance while developing basic work habits. Choose two days per week (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday schedule), or all four days for additional afterschool support.

NASP – National Archery in the Schools Program
Join us this year as we begin archery at Venado. Students will be introduced to archery through the NASP program which promotes instruction in international-style target archery to improve educational performance and participation in the shooting sports. Students will have the opportunity to learn and practice archery in a safe and fun environment.

American Sign Language (ASL) - Beginners
Are you interested in learning and practicing American Sign Language (ASL)? Do you want to communicate with your deaf and hard-of-hearing peers? By the end of this class you will develop receptive and expressive skills, be able to have basic conversations in ASL, learn the truth behind the common myths about deaf and hard-of-hearing people, understand events from deaf history, and have a lot of fun learning! No experience needed.
This class will prepare your student for high school foreign language requirements.

American Sign Language (ASL) - Intermediate
This class is designed for students with some ASL classroom experience/knowledge. We will continue to build vocabulary and conversation skills, learn more about the importance of classifiers, facial expressions and Deaf Culture. We will also focus more heavily on receptive and expressive skills.

SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE
A limited number of partial scholarships are available for all classes based on financial need. Income documentation is required for approval. Parents may apply for assistance by completing the Scholarship Application available at www.ipsf.net/ace.
