This year’s Acolyte Festival brought together new and experienced acolytes from across the diocese for fellowship and hands-on learning. Highlights included "Get-to-Know-You" Bingo, a human knot led by teens, and exciting prizes.
Three focused workshops offered acolytes a deeper dive into their ministry. More than just training, the Acolyte Festival provided youth and adults a firsthand experience of Christ Church Cathedral, opportunities to ask questions, and insight into the vital role acolytes play in our worship and church life.
Thank you to everyone who contributed their time and expertise, especially Bishop Duckworth, the Very Reverend David duPlantier, the Reverend Canon Steven Roberts, the Reverend Annie Jung, the Reverend Austin Wendt, Brother Todd van Alstyne, and Jessica Lee.

On August 19, The Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana joined together with The Episcopal Diocese of Western Louisiana for a wonderful joint Clergy Day, led by Dr. Scott MacDougall, Director of Theological Resources for The Episcopal Church.

A Six-Session Journey of Spiritual Exploration and Discovery of What It Means To Serve “The Least of These"

Using the lectures and writings of Father Greg Boyle, founder and director of Homeboy Industries, a Los Angeles-based gang rehabilitation and re-entry program, participants will deepen their understanding of what it means to serve “the least of these” in the Spirit of Christ.
Barking to the Choir: The Power of Radical Kinship by Father Greg Boyle will be the primary text used.
Five online Zoom gatherings will precede and build up to a day-long gathering of learning, prayer, discussion and fellowship.

Taizé Prayer Service @ Christ Episcopal Church, Slidell | |
Join the Christ Episcopal Church, Slidell community for a candlelight Taizé Prayer service at 7:00pm, Thursday, September 17th.
Taizé is a meditative, ecumenical Christian service featuring repetitive song, scripture readings, silence, and contemplative prayer to foster spiritual reflection and community. This service will last for one hour.
Parking is available in front of the church, next to the church and across the street from the church.
