Rep. McLain is a lifelong Oregonian who spent over 40 years as a high school teacher and speech and debate coach. She served as a Metro Councilor for 16 years and joined the State Legislature in 2015. There, she serves as the Co-Chair of the Joint Committee on Transportation, Co-Chair of the Joint Committee on the Interstate 5 Bridge, a member of the Joint Committee on Ways and Means, Co-Chair of the Interim Joint Education Appropriations Committee, a member of the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Education, and of the House Committee on Agriculture, Land Use, Natural Resources, and Water.
In addition to the session preview, we’ll learn how to stay up-to-date on state legislation introduced in 2025, and discuss opportunities for legislative advocacy on policies related to land use, housing, transportation, climate and Oregon’s land use planning program.
