Register for in-person Summer School!
Summer school in Barrington 220 begins on Monday, June 7 and we are excited to offer a comprehensive array of course offerings for students in grades K-12. Courses range from skill enhancement and credit recovery, to learning acceleration and the exploration of new and unique interests. In addition, a wide range of activities and athletic camps supplement the academic course offerings during both summer sessions. 

In-person classes will be offered at all levels. Elementary students will also have the option to learn from anywhere by enrolling in virtual classes through the 220BOSS program. Middle and high school courses will be offered in person, with select courses being offered virtually through Illinois Virtual School.
ICYMI: Parent University sessions focus on SEL
In case you missed it, in February and March Barrington 220 partnered with BStrong Together and Barrington Youth & Family Services to host two virtual Parent University sessions focused on our students' social and emotional well-being. The sessions were titled "Cultivating Resilience During COVID-19" and "Youth Mental Health and Suicide: Know the Warning Signs and How to Help".
Build 220 project work underway
March 17, 2021 marked one year since the Barrington 220 community approved a $147 million bond measure that will fund major facility upgrades at all of our school buildings. Barrington 220 has launched the Build 220 webpage, which will continuously be updated to keep all stakeholders informed every step along the way. Construction will begin this spring at BMS-Prairie, BMS-Station and Grove Avenue Elementary, which are being prioritized in order to eliminate the mobile classrooms at those schools. Preliminary design plans for Barrington High School were shared at the March 2 and March 16 Board of Education meetings. Project work across all D220 schools is expected to last through 2025.
BHS student volunteers make a positive impact during the pandemic
Each school year Barrington High School students will spend between 20,000 and 25,000 hours volunteering in our community. Learning NOW in Barrington 220 is a video series created by the Department of Technology & Innovation, which highlights learning in Barrington 220 from the student perspective. The Learning Now "One Minute Spotlight" focuses on how technology is used to support different lessons in the classroom. BHS musical streaming April 29-May 2
The Barrington High School Fine Arts Department is proud to present this year's virtual musical, "Songs for a New World". Ticket sales and streaming will be offered through the publishing company, Music Theater International. Tickets will go on sale in mid-April via the Barrington High School Box Office.
Parents: Take the 5Essentials Survey
This year all students and teachers across Illinois will have an opportunity to participate in the seventh annual statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey. Your participation in the parent portion of the survey will help us understand the conditions at your child’s school and guide improvement. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child. Click here to fill out the parent survey, which is administered by UChicago Impact at the University of Chicago, on behalf of the Illinois State Board of Education.
BCGT hosting virtual monthly wisdom program
Join the Barrington Council for the Gifted and Talented (BCGT) for its March Monthly Wisdom Program titled "Data Science and the Art of Decision Intelligence". Govind Balu, CEO and Chief Digital Officer at QuaXigma will present strategies to help children develop data and analytics maturity and the ability to communicate and visualize data. The virtual event will take place on Wednesday, March 31 at 7pm. Click here to register.
