New Paper Calls for Renewed and Urgent Focus on Diversifying the International Student Population in the U.S. | |
A new paper by Presidents’ Alliance Senior Advisor Rajika Bhandari (for the Oxford International Education Group) warns that U.S. colleges and universities could face challenges if they don’t strategically attract and serve a diverse group of international students. Framed by the multiple enrollment challenges that institutions face, including the impending enrollment cliff, the paper highlights four key areas: the importance of diversity for sustainability and mission, defining international student diversity in the U.S. context, trends in mobility from diverse nations (particularly the Global South), and strategies for institutions seeking to diversify their student populations.
