You're Invited to the New York State Great Outdoors Summit

Thursday, November 12, 2026 | 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM
Embassy Suites Syracuse - Destiny Mall

New York State offers the best of America's great outdoors, yet many residents and most travelers have only limited awareness of New York as a great outdoors destination. The Great Outdoors Summit seeks to connect New York State's canals, lakes, rivers, trails and parks with communities, residents and the visitor economy by bringing stakeholders together for a full day of learning and collaboration.

The morning features a comprehensive briefing on the scope and diversity of New York's outdoor assets, with insights from state agencies, destinations, associations, and attractions. After lunch, facilitated ideation sessions will tap the collective expertise in the room to explore new ways to promote New York as a great outdoors destination, supporting the work already underway by I LOVE NY and state agencies.

Hosted jointly by the Canal New York Marketing & Business Alliance and NYSTIA, the Summit will be informational, inspirational, and motivational, and a starting point for statewide collaboration.
