Growing Your Career Workshop


The Feinberg Staff Engagement Committee encourages all Feinberg staff to join NUSAC and NUHR for the Growing Your Career Workshop.


The virtual event will be hosted on Thursday, July 28, from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. Registration for the virtual event is available until July 27. The workshop schedules and registration links can be found on this site


The virtual session will begin with a keynote address given by Lorraine Goffe, Vice President for Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer. 


Following the keynote, staff will attend their choice of session:


10:00-10:45 a.m. Session Choices


1. Championing Your Career With Confidence

How can you be more proactive in your career growth, from where you sit? In this session, we will discuss opportunities you can step into today, to positively advocate for yourself and create your future.


2. Rock Your Resume

In this hands-on session, you will work on your resume and gain valuable insight from talent acquisition professionals on how to make your resume rock! To get the most out of the session, attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop with a soft copy resume. If you don’t have access to a laptop, hard copy resumes are also welcome.


11:00-11:45 a.m. Session Choices


1. Navigating the Job Search Process

During this session, you will learn actionable tips for effectively navigating the job search process, including planning your search, setting up job alerts, leveraging your network and requesting informational interviews. 


2. Mastering the Interview: Formal and Informal

During this session, you will learn how to make the most of your informal and formal interview and hear simple techniques on how to prepare for your upcoming interview. Join us for an interactive session where you will practice your interview skills and use strategies such as the STAR method to make a good impression.  


Participants are invited to stay on the call from 12 to 1 p.m. for a deeper dive into career development with staff from the Office of Human Resources.
