Patients, like Matias.
Matias came to Richmond from Uruguay alone. With no family in the area and only a little English, he was trying to navigate the healthcare system on his own.
Matias first went to a clinic with limited services, where he was managing his basic health needs. Due to his decreased hearing, worsening vision, and multiple dental needs, the staff at the clinic knew he needed more comprehensive care. They referred him to CrossOver in 2017.
Since then, Matias has had cataract surgery though Access Now, has had his hearing evaluated by our volunteer ENT Dr. Thomas Meeks, and receives most of his medication through our pharmacy.
Next up? Matias is on track with our dental team to receive a full set of dentures!
